shinie IPL · Help & Results
Don't worry—you're not alone, and in the vast majority of cases, the problem is quickly resolved. On this page, we'll show you exactly what might be causing the issue and how you can still get the result you want. And if not, you're not taking any risks.
First things first
More than 40% of our customers see visible results within the first few weeks. If you're not one of them yet, don't worry. In most cases, you just need a little more patience and a few small adjustments.
In the vast majority of cases , the problem isn't with the device, but with how it's used —giving up too soon, setting the intensity too low, or maintaining an irregular rhythm. That's exactly where we come in: We've revised our recommendations and are providing you with specific, simple suggestions for improvement here.
In that case, we'll accept a return of your device under our 100-day satisfaction guarantee. So you don't take any risks—feel free to try out the tips at your leisure.
In the vast majority of cases, the problem isn't the device itself, but rather the timing or a small detail in how it's used. Let's go through it together.
What could be the reason?
The most common reason. You usually won't see any visible results before week 3; the full effect kicks in between weeks 6 and 12. → Just keep going—you're right on track.
Many people stick to the lowest setting out of caution. More power makes it stronger. → Set it as high as it still feels comfortable.
Missed treatments are the biggest obstacle. → Set specific days and aim for 2–3 treatments per week.
Clean-shaven? Skin clean and dry? Area completely covered? Full skin contact? → Small adjustments often make all the difference.
IPL works best on dark hair. The results are less effective on very light, blonde, red, or gray hair—this is due to the technology, not you. → Contact us, and we'll take a personal look at it.
Our Suggestions for Improvement
Four levers that really make a difference—in exactly this order.
The most effective control. As long as it feels comfortably warm: higher setting = stronger effect. Work your way up gradually.
Don't skip any applications. A consistent schedule over 12 weeks is more effective than applying "sometimes more, sometimes less."
Freshly shaved, clean, dry skin; complete coverage; full skin contact. That’s how the full energy reaches the root.
Most of the satisfied participants simply stuck with it. Give your body the full 12 weeks before you make up your mind.
Stick to 2–3 times a week with at least one day in between—doing it more often won’t speed things up, since your hair only responds during its growth phase. The more effective approach is to use a higher setting, not to increase the number of treatments. If your skin is irritated, it’s better to take an extra day off.
The Application
Shave smoothly before each use. The light works through the root in the skin, not through the visible hair.
The skin should be clean, dry, and free of lotion, oil, or makeup.
As high as it still feels comfortable. If in doubt, start lower and work your way up.
Cover the entire area completely. Do not go over the same spot multiple times —once, thoroughly, is enough.
Follow that with a mild, fragrance-free moisturizer.
Avoid moles, liver spots, and tattoos when using the flash, and do not go over irritated skin.
Your Schedule
| Phase | Rhythm | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Weeks 1–4: Start of the " " | 2–3 times a week | Development. Visibly, nothing usually changes yet—the roots are “weakened.” |
| Weeks 5–12 : Building Up | 2–3 times a week | The first results are becoming apparent: finer, slower-growing hair, and bald spots. |
| Starting in Week 12 : Maintenance | every 2–4 weeks | Only repeat the treatment if a few strands of hair grow back. |
What to Expect
During the first two weeks, you usually won't notice any changes. This isn't a failure—it's just part of the normal process. Don't give up.
The typical early signs: Your hair grows back more slowly, becomes finer and thinner, and you don't have to shave as often.
Entire sections are noticeably lighter. Now that consistency is paying off.
A permanently (almost) hair-free area is the result of months—the time required varies depending on the body part.
The Steps
The higher the setting, the stronger the light pulse and the more effective it is. Rule of thumb: Set it as high as it still feels comfortable—a mild, warm sensation is normal and intended.
The gentlest. For sensitive skin, the face, and to get used to the product.
Moderate intensity. A good level for most areas of the body.
The strongest and most effective. For less sensitive areas such as the legs, as soon as the skin tolerates it well.
Does a certain intensity level feel good? Then it's the right one. If you feel an uncomfortable burning sensation, go down a level—don't increase the frequency.
Zone by Zone
This is completely normal: Your legs respond the fastest, while your underarms, bikini line, and face take a little longer. Don't let it bother you if one area already looks great and another doesn't yet.
The bars show the typical speed, but this is not a guarantee—darker, thicker hair generally reacts faster than light hair.
2–3 times a week; stick with it until week 12; be patient during the first few weeks.
If you stick with it, you'll start seeing results by week 3—and they're usually really good.
